About our Church

At Vineyard Community Church at Mt. Comfort we value relationships - with Jesus, our families, our church body, and our community. We want our church to be a place where you feel welcome and comfortable in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Whether you are seeking God or answers to life's problems, or if you are a seasoned believer, you'll hear teaching from the Word of God that is relevant to your life and situation. Praise and worship is exciting and intimate with contemporary music and heartfelt lyrics. We hope to meet the needs of your whole family with classes and activities for children and youth, a nursery staffed with caring people, and ministry time devoted to addressing cares, concerns, and needs. You are welcome at Vineyard Community Church at Mt. Comfort!

Services

Our weekly celebration service is on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Our service is casual and informal. We have a wonderful time of meeting with the Lord in praise and worship with contemporary music. Our worship team includes gifted musicians and singers who love the Lord and really want to lead us into His presence. Pastor Rick's teaching is honest and relevant, true to God's Word and His leading. We always make room for ministry - a time to ask the Lord for His help, healing, and guidance.

Our children's classes meet weekly on Sunday during the sermon time. Our teachers strive to make their teaching exciting and fun, yet filled with God's truth and direction for young hearts. Our youth classes meet every other week during the sermon time. We believe our youth benefit from this schedule because it allows them time as a group to study teen-specific topics but also allows them time to be a part of the fellowship and hear teaching from their pastor.

We also meet on Wednesdays, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays are the "main attraction" for our youth group - their weekly time together for worship, teaching, and fun. Our children meet for Kids Club on Wednesday evening, a fun-filled time of games, snacks, and teaching. The adults meet in the sanctuary for a time of worship, teaching, and ministry.

Community

"So let's do it - full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching." Hebrews 10:22-25 (The Message)

Our church body is a family. We take part in each other's lives - not just a casual "hello" on Sunday morning, but taking time to form relationships and caring for each other.

We offer "home groups" that meet for worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship. We also have times of fellowship, such as picnics and dinners, game and movie nights, and other fun activities.

We'll welcome you where you are in your walk with Jesus and in your life.

Meet Our Pastor

Our pastor, Rick Francis, has over 25 years of ministry experience plus many years of counseling experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., and his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary also in Wilmore, Ky. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Debby, for 33 years and they have three grown children. Rick loves to golf, read, and cheer for his favorite sports teams. Rick has a deep love for the body of Christ and very much wants to see her grow and develop into all that God has in store for her. Oh, and did we mention, he loves golf!
